The Edmonton Oilers are coming off a dominant performance, beating the Boston Bruins by a score of 4-0

While Stuart Skinner played extremely well, the game cam with it's fair share of controversy.

With just minutes left in the 1st period, Boston Bruins defenceman Nikita Zadorov took the puck along the boards and came charging in to the Oilers net, unfortunately, Nikita Zadorov made no attempt to slow down, colliding hard with Stuart Skinner a massive hit.

Stuart Skinner appeared to be shaken up and stayed down for a few minutes. Edmonton Oilers trainer TD Forrs came out to provide the initial intake on Stuart Skinner, and ultimately advised him to go down the tunnel for medical assistance.

Luckily, Stuart Skinner was able to draw back in for the second period, where he showcased his best performance between the pipes so far.

After the game, Stuart Skinner commented on Nikita Zadorov's hit.

"They called down & honestly, it's a smart call. He got me pretty good."

David Staples gives player rating

David Staples writes:

Came huge when he needed to do so. Sharp in the first 30 seconds on Zacha's wicked little tip, then solid on Marchand in tight later in the frame. He got taken out hard by Nikita Zadorov on the rush, an ugly run at Edmonton's goalie, which took him out of the game. It was a classic example of running-the-goalie. Fortunately Skinner returned to the game in the second. He came up huge on Zacha's short-handed breakaway, then on Pastrnak's point blank snipe with the score still 2-0. Solid yet again on Frederic in tight early in the third, then came up big as Boston fired things up, especially on breakaway stops on Mark Kastelic and John Beecher.

Stuart Skinner is heating up just at the right time for the Edmonton Oilers. With last night's win, the Oilers goaltender boosts his record to 16-8-3, posting a .902 SP.

The Edmonton Oilers will look to keep the ball rolling when they take on the Pittsburgh Penguins tomorrow.
