Connor Mcdavid just made a complaint to the NHL and he has the support of David Pastrnak

With only Canada, the USA, Sweden and Finland participating there are several superstar players that were left out simply because their countries don't have enough NHL talent to fill a full roster.

McDavid voiced his frustration by mentioning that a true best-on-best tournament should include every nation with top-tier players.

The NHL designed this tournament to make sure every player came from an NHL roster which unfortunately excluded countries like Germany, Czechia and Switzerland and while the 4 Nations Faceoff has been an exciting event, the lack of representation has left noticeable player out.

McDavid's words carry weight and with stars like Pastrnak and Nathan MacKinnon backing him up, the NHL may have to reconsider its approach.

Nathan MacKinnon not only praised McDavid's leadership in calling for better inclusion but also admitted that McDavid is unquestionably the best player in the world.

Fortunately, the 2028 World Cup of Hockey will expand to eight teams and will allow for more representation, but if the goal is a true best-on-best tournament, the NHL should consider including more nations or allowing mixed-roster teams.

After all, international hockey is about showing the game's greatest talent and this, regardless of nationality.

For now, McDavid, Pastrnak, and other stars have made it clear that the NHL's international tournaments should evolve to be more inclusive and we hope that the NHL listens.
