Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid made himself available for his usual interviews after practice, and he called out the media for trying to create a narrative with their incessant questions.

The Edmonton Oilers are starting to look like the elite team that went to game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals, but the they have a massive challenge ahead of them.

The Edmonton Oilers are facing murderers row the next 5 games. With tough opponents like the Tampa Bay Lightning, Minnesota Wild, Las Vegas Golden Knights, Florida Panthers, and the Boston, fans will get to see what the Oilers are truly made of.

Historically, the Edmonton Oilers play well against tougher opponents, but there's no denying this next stretch will be a huge challenge.

Connor McDavid claps back at the media

According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, McDavid was asked if this is a big test week for the Oilers, and he agreed that it was a good opportunity to measure up against contending teams. He was then asked the same question again, and he could only laugh it off.

»Yeah, it'll be a great test for us, see where we're at. I feel like all the questions have been the same today. You know? You guys are trying to make a story here, but yeah, I mean we're playing pretty well and we're playing some good teams this week, and it'll be a good test.»

- Connor McDavid

Although Connor McDavid has never been known to be too animated during his interviews, the Oilers captain has clearly had enough of the constant cycle of questions regarding the tough road ahead.
