Calvin Pickard robs the Minnesota Wild on a 2-0 breakaway
Edmonton Oilers goaltender Calvin Pickard has just sent shockwaves down the NHL, making a miraculous save on a Minnesota Wild 2-0 breakaway.
Minutes into the second period, Ryan Hartman slipped behind the Oilers defence in the neutral zone, breaking away with a clear path to the net.
Minnesota Wild forward Joel Eriksson Ek joined him for a 2-on-0 breakway.
Hartman delivered a perfect pass across to Ek, but Calvin Pickard made a spectacular sprawling save to deny the prime scoring opportunity.
Although Calvin Pickard gets his fair share of criticism, you would be remiss not to tip your cap to him on this beautiful save.
