Team Canada is dealing with the aftermath of a tough loss against Team USA last Saturday at the 4 Nations Face-Off Tournament. While the boys look ahead to today's matchup against Team Finland, the blatant disrespect of national anthems during this tournament is something unprecedented the hockey world has not witnessed before. Following the defeat, Team Canada captain Sidney Crosby broke his silence over the booing, giving his personal thoughts on the matter.

Typically, Canadians are known to be classy, respectful, and loving hockey fans. But the mounting political tension between the USA and Canada have caused an underlying sense of anxiety amongst citizens, which is being directly portrayed in the pre game anthems.

Sidney Crosby unimpressed with booing of anthems

According to hockey latest, Team Canada's Sidney Crosby, a pillar of sportsmanship throughout his career, was visibly irked over the booing.
Crosby respects the anthem and reminds fans this is a hockey game
Afterward, he was visibly disappointed, stating that he is a respecter of all anthems and that players should not be required to endure that in order to play. He gets the passion, but players are here to play hockey.
«I'm not going to get into that. We respect the anthems, and I'll leave it at that.»

- Sidney Crosby

With Canada heading into a "game 7" type of environment today, it should be interesting how American fans respond if Team Canada were to meet Team USA in the finals.
Regardless, the atmosphere at TD Garden should be electric, and hopefully the boys get it done.
