The Edmonton Oilers are gearing up for a thrilling showdown against the Colorado Avalanche tonight, and the team will look to make it 3 consecutive wins in a row.

With that being said, the Oilers are coming two underwhelming performances against the lowly St. Louis Blues and Chicago Blackhawks.
While the Edmonton Oilers secured both games in overtime, Connor McDavid hasn't been impressed with his team's effort as of late.

Connor McDavid demanding more from his teammates

According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, peaking to the media before today's game, Connor McDavid said the Oilers haven't been playing their best hockey as of late, and called on his teammates to bring more emotion tonight.
I think we haven't had a great stretch of hockey. I know we've found ways to win games, but it hasn't been our best

We're just lacking a little bit in terms of maybe some energy, some emotion, there hasn't been much emotion in these games. Try to gear up for a big one gotta find a way to get a win here tonight.

-Connor McDavid

It's no surprise to see the captain demand more from his team, particularly when it comes to the emotional aspect of the game.
While blowing leads against teams like the Blues and Blackhawks can still result in a victory, the Oilers can't afford to ease up against a team like the Avalanche.
Will the Oilers bring their A-game after being called out by Connor McDavid? Time will tell.
