The Edmonton Oilers are riding a high after dominating the Minnesota Wild by a score of 7-1, but Evan Bouchard remains a concern for the team.

With just minutes left in the 3rd period, Evan Bouchard was in a race with Ryan Hartman to retrieve the puck in the Oilers zone.

Although Ryan Hartman was fighting for inside position, he clearly shoulder checked Evan Bouchard, resulting in the Oilers defenceman colliding aggressively into the post -- a dirty hit to say the least.

Edmonton Oilers provide update on Evan Bouchard

According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, star Oilers defenceman Evan Bouchard sustained an injury in the final moments of last night's game against the Minnesota Wild, and today, Oilers coach Knoblauch listed him as a game time decision for tomorrow night.

Bouchard was injured by a questionable hit from Wild forward Ryan Hartman, knocking him into the net while the Oilers defender wasn't near the puck.

Kris Knoblauch adjusts lines at practice

As it stands, Oilers defenceman Evan Bouchard has been left off the practice roster, suggesting an inevitable sit out tomorrow night against the Las Vegas Golden Knights.

Although losing Evan Bouchard would be a significant blow to the team, the Oilers recently acquired Alec Regula off waivers, and this could be his chance to step up and prove himself.

Obviously, no one knows what Kris Knoblauch has in store for tomorrow, but don't be surprised if you se big Alec Regula slotting in tomorrow night.
