The Edmonton Oilers are coming off a dominant performance 7-1 performance over the Minnesota Wild last night, but a dirty hit by Ryan Hartman had sparked controversy among fans.

Often times when a team is being spanked by 5+ goals, the game can get a little ugly.

With that being said, Minnesota Wild forward Ryan Hartman is in the hot seat for a dirty hit on Evan Bouchard - and fans are calling for a suspension.

With just minutes left in the 3rd period, Evan Bouchard was in a race with Ryan Hartman to retrieve the puck in the Oilers zone.
Although Ryan Hartman was fighting for inside position, he clearly shoulder checked Evan Bouchard, resulting in the Oilers defenceman colliding aggressively into the post.
Here's the thing - Ryan Hartman is no stranger to this kind of controversy.
Ryan Hartman has a bad history of headshots, slew foots, late hits, and cross checks. Whatever suspension you can think of, Ryan Hartman has had it.
After the game, Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch offered no update on Bouchard's status.
«We're gonna fly home and get it checked out,» he said. «Hopefully it's something minor, but probably won't be able to tell until tomorrow.»

Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli, meanwhile, said Bouchard «had a slight limp postgame and soreness, but otherwise seemed to avoid the worst of it.»

Although it looks like Evan Bouchard avoided a potential serious injury, fans are calling for Ryan Hartman to receive disciplinary action.
