Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid sat down with reporters to discuss the upcoming Four Nations Face-Off and the fact that he will play with some of his rivals.

He showed his excitement to play alongside other Canadian stars including Sam Reinhart whom he faced in last year's Stanley Cup Finals.
"It's a great opportunity for our team to come together & make our country proud." Connor McDavid speaks ahead of Canada's tournament opener tomorrow against his #Oilers teammates Mattias Ekholm & Viktor Arvidsson with Sweden.
While the NHL has seen growing diversity, the Canadian players still dominate this world, which is making Team Canada a formidable force across the world for hockey.
However, Connor McDavid acknowledged that there is a strong competition from Team USA, whose talent pool has improved over the past decade, and even Sweden who is a consistent contender in international play since a couple of years.
This tournament also serves as a preview of what the 2026 Team Canada Olympic roster might look like, with many NHL stars expected to stay at the top of their game and make the Olympic team too.
The Four Nations Face-Off is the NHL's latest attempt to expand its international offerings and the league hopes it will become a tradition alongside outdoor games and other events.
It provides a tournament to show the hockey's elite talent from the best country in the world while giving players from non-participating teams a mid-season break that is much appreciated.
The tournament kicks off on February 12 in Montreal, with the finals set for February 20 in Boston.
