Breaking news in Oil Country as the Bakersfield Condors have released forward Brayden Tracey from his PTO.

According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, The Oilers signed Tracey to the tryout contract last week, and he only played 4 games with the Condors tryout, not recording a single point. Tracey received third line minutes with alongside James Stefan and Carl Berglund - two decent prospects - but Tracey was just unable to create anything.

Tracey is now 23 years old, and was drafted 29th overall by the Anaheim Ducks back in 2019. He's spent his entire professional career in the Ducks system, playing for the AHL's Sam Diego Gulls, and earning 1 NHL game in the 2022-23 season. He stands at 6'1, and is a left shot winger.

Being a former 1st round pick, Brayden Tracey came to the Bakersfield Condors with some pretty high expectations. Unfortunately, Tracey wasn't able to scrape a single point together during his 4 game test, and has been sent packing his bags.

Now, Brayden Tracey is going to be desperate to find work, and it's looking like an inevitable stint in the ECHL will be the only way to keep his pro hockey aspirations alive.

The Bakersfield Condors are also off to a inconsistent start to the year. The Oilers affiliate has posted a 5-4-1 record and struggle to find consistent depth scoring throughout their lineup.

As it stands, the Bakersfield Condors are going back to the drawing board in order to scoop up some much needed scoring talent.
