The Edmonton Oilers have been without one of their top snipers all season, but forward Evander Kane has been hard at work preparing for another epic postseason. That said, Edmonton Oilers insider Jason Gregor has recently given fans some insight as to where Evander Kane sits in his recovery.

Evander Kane is currently recovering from an evasive abdominal surgery, including knee surgery unrelated to a previous injury.
While Evander Kane is still undergoing rehabilitation, Jason Gregor reveals that Evander Kane's recovery is right on track.

Evander Kane skating at 60% efficiency

Evander Kane has started skating. He has skated the past two days and around 60% pace, as he will need time to get back up to speed. He hasn't played since June and hasn't really skated.

According to Ryan Hall of Oilers Daily, Gregor also feels that it will take some time for Kane to get back into game shape even though his skating appears to be well ahead of schedule.
It was quite apparent during last year's season that Kane was struggling with some sort of injury that was not revealed until the summer.
Edmonton Oilers could use LTIR money
«The more I talk to people around the league, it is not a certainty that Evander Kane doesn't come back before the playoffs,» said Frank Seravalli on Oilersnation Everyday. The Oilers truly do not have an idea or an answer yet, and may not get one until a week before the deadline as to whether or not they can spend that money.»

«If they can't spend that money,» continued Seravalli. «We are talking about dollar in dollar out. You can take any John Gibson or, frankly, any goaltending addition and chuck it out the window because they don't have the money to do it.»
