Fans are calling for Mark Spector to be fired after brutal question
The Edmonton Oilers are coming off a disappointing loss at the hands of the Philadelphia Flyers, and Edmonton Oilers reporter Mark Spector seized the opportunity to take a shot at goaltender Stuart Skinner.
First off, I just want to say that Mark Spector is one of the most disgusting reporters in hockey.
While Stuart Skinner may not have had the best night between the pipes, Mark Spector tried to exploit his bad game for a few extra likes on X (formally known as Twitter)
According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, In a post game interview, Mark Spector asked Ekholm what he would say to critics of the Oilers goaltending affecting results.
Asked
Mattias Ekholm what he would say to people who thought goaltending was the Oilers biggest issue today.
«That they should probably rewatch the game and see where the problems started. I don't think there's a goalie in the league that would have saved many of those.»
-Mattias Ekholm
According to McCormick, It's a question that's directly leading Ekholm to be critical towards his teammate, and even if Skinner's performance wasn't up to par today, Ekholm wouldn't throw him under the bus to the media.
Fans took to social media to call out the question as leading Ekholm into an answer he didn't want to give. Props to Ekholm, he was able to dodge it and give a vote of confidence to his goalie.
Spector has been known to be extremely critical of the Edmonton Oilers, often getting under the skin of players during interviews and media availability with his provoking style of questioning.
On in this particular occasion, Spector tried to make the most of Skinner's bad game.
Hopefully, Spector now realizes it'll take more than a poor question to shake the Oilers dressing room.
Spector, if you're reading this -- get a new job, bud.
