The Edmonton Oilers are coming off a massive 6-2 victory against the New York Rangers last night, but our city seems to be generating the media's attention for a different reason...

Yesterday, the City of Edmonton issued a severe snowfall warning, with reports indicating that citizens could expect more than 35cm in certain areas of the city.

With that being said, the weekend's winter blast dumped as much as 25 cm of snow in some parts of the Edmonton area -- setting a shocking stage for the visiting New York Rangers team.

Before the game, Hockey Insider David Pagnotta posted a hilarious picture on X (formally known as twitter) of the epic scene outside of Rogers place arena -- asking fans if they're "ok?"

David Pagnotta's post generated quite a bit of buzz on social media, with hilarious fan reactions from across the NHL.

Indeed, it was quite the scene to witness if you're the type of person unaccustomed to Alberta's harsh winter climate.

From huge snowbanks, to horse sleighs, it was definitely a sight to behold for hockey fans tuning in from out of town.

Although the weather was frightful, the Edmonton Oilers seemed completely unfazed by the snow-storm, dominating the New York Rangers 6-2 in a decisive spanking.

The Edmonton Oilers seem to be finding their groove as of late, with contributions from depth players across their lineup.

The team will look to build off this electrifying victory when they take on Utah HC next Friday.
