The Edmonton Oilers are coming off a disappointing 4-3 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Kings, but head coach Kris Knoblauch made the questionable to put forward Adam Henrique in overtime, which resulted in the Oilers demise.

Before overtime started, Adam Henrique was already a -3 rating on the ice. Typically a coach should play his best players for 3v3, and Henrique was the last player Knoblauch should've sent out there.

Now, fans have taken to social media to call Kris Knoblauch out for his questionable overtime decision.

As per David Staples, he got beat in the slot on Kempe's wicked power play shot in the third. But he went to the net and pounded a hard shot on net late in the third. He got deked out by Byfield on the OT goal, his feet stuck in cement too often in this game.

According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, In 35 games this season, Henrique has just 3 goals and 10 points, with an on-ice rating of +1. He's still a quality player, but is being used in the wrong position.

Insider Bob Stauffer has suggested that Edmonton may explore a trade for a bottom six forward with energy. Adding a third line center would appear to be a fit.

For now at the very least though, Coach Knoblauch should be rethinking his overtime ice time decisions to utilize some faster players like Kapanen and Podkolzin, instead of the veteran Henrique.

While this may not have been Knoblauch's finest decision, the Oilers will look to bounceback tomorrow when they take on the Anaheim Ducks.
