Stan Bowman provides concerning update on trade deadline plans
General manager Stan Bowman made himself available for a brief press conference today, and fans are concerned regarding a few comments he made regarding his NHL trade deadline plans.
Speaking with the media today, Stan Bowman highlighted his positive sentiment towards the team.
He acknowledges being pleased with what he's seen so far and indicated that , rather than making a major move at the deadline, he prefers to focus on some fine-tuning.
With the Oilers currently stuck in "win now" mode, the isn't the kind of news fans wan't to hear.
While analysts around the league feel strongly about the Oilers adding a top-4 defenceman at the deadline, Bowman's comments say otherwise.

According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, Bowman may have a point when considering the Oilers don't have much cap space or trade assets to make a big trade. Evander Kane met with the media today and stressed multiple times that he will be back this season - if he returns in the regular season, the Oilers will have only $1.04M in cap space.
Personally, I feel like Stan Bowman is making every effort to play it cool here.
The Edmonton Oilers have been Stanley Cup favourites for 2 full seasons, and this is the year to make big splashes at the deadline.
As a fan, I believe Bowman owes it to the fanbase to bring in a quality asset at the deadline, and i fully expect him to make a groundbreaking move within the next two months.
