As the Edmonton Oilers prepare for the season's final stretch, they're set to receive significant help with three new additions to their lineup.

Evander Kane, Matthew Savoie and Noah Philp could all play important roles in the Oilers' playoff run and are providing depth and polyvalence at the forward position.
The most anticipated return is the one of Evander Kane who has been sidelined with a complex injury, but Kane has started skating during his rehab process and remains confident he'll be back before the playoffs.
His physical presence and scoring ability will be crucial for Edmonton's middle-six and will address their need for grit and offensive depth.
With Kane on LTIR, his $5.125M cap hit could offer the Oilers flexibility at the trade deadline.
They could use this space to strengthen other areas like defense or goaltending before Kane returns for the playoff.
Acquired from the Buffalo Sabres, Matthew Savoie has quickly become Edmonton's top prospect and the St. Albert native has impressed at the AHL level by scoring 34 points in 42 games.
Insider Bob Stauffer suggests Savoie might be NHL-ready sooner than expected and will potentially earn a call-up before the end of the season.
Noah Philp has already played 12 NHL games this season and is showcasing his potential as a reliable depth forward.
Although currently in the AHL during the Four Nations Faceoff break, Philp is expected to return to the Oilers and could be a valuable asset in the playoffs.
With these forward additions, Edmonton may put its trade focus toward defense or goaltending.
While they've been linked to forward Ryan Donato, the team has already helped the blue line with John Klingberg and given their forward depth, their resources might be better spent on solidifying their defensive or signing a good backup goaltender.
At the end of the day, the Oilers will hope that at least two of these three players' options contribute to their Stanley Cup ambitions.
