You won't believe how much this Connor McDavid jersey just sold for
It's no secret that Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid is the best hockey player in the world, but now he's making headlines for an entirely different reason.
Recently, a game worn Connor McDavid playoff jersey has just sold for the grand total of $68,532.
The game worn piece of memorabilia was sold on the NHL's official auction site, where thousands of hockey fanatics try their luck to secure prizes.
According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, The auction opened on November 16 at $25,000 and received a total of 71 bids before it closed and officially sold this afternoon.
The bidder who won the jersey clearly really wanted it, they paid nearly $70K for it, but the bidding process itself was wild.
The value of the jersey jumped by $2K across 3 bids made this morning in the span of only 4 minutes. Regular season game worn McDavid jerseys often go for around $25K.

I mean, who wouldn't want a game worn Connor McDavid Jersey, but $68k for a jersey is absolutely absurd.
This isn't the first time we've seen fans go crazy for Connor McDavid Sports memorabilia.
Just a few months ago, headlines came out of Windsor Ontario where valuable signed Connor McDavid jersey worth $2k was stolen from a local sports memorabilia store.
Supply and demand in the sports memorabilia world is driven by how rare an item or person's autograph is and the overall demand.
Connor McDavid has grown into one of the more prominent figures in pro sports, and his memorabilia obviously comes with a huge price-tag.
