Devastating news hits former Edmonton Oilers star

It was recently announced that former Edmonton Oilers star Jordan Eberle recently completed successful pelvic surgery, but his return timeline is looking grim.

According to Sportsnet, The 34-year-old veteran was injured on Nov. 14 against the Chicago Blackhawks as he was chasing a puck into the offensive zone.

Unfortunately, Eberly got tangled up with Chicaco Blackhawks defender Connor Murphy, sending both of them hard into the end boards.

In 16 games for the Kraken this season, Eblerle has scored six goals and 11 points, including one game-winner. The 34-year-old was named the second captain in franchise history, succeeding Mark Giordano, on Oct. 8.

This comes as tragic news for Seattle Kraken enthusiasts who are hoping to get back to post postseason for just the second time in franchise history.

The longtime NHL veteran was names captain of the Seattle Kraken during the offseason and had been posting stellar numbers prior to the injury.

The Edmonton Oilers have also been plagued with injuries so far. We've only reached the quarter mile, and players like Darnell Nurse, Viktor Arvidsson, and Zach Hyman are already struggling with nagging injury trouble.

Jordan "Ebs" Eberly was selected in the first round (22nd overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers and made his NHL debut with the Oilers in 2010.

The Saskatchewan native will look to bounce-back back from his lengthy rehabilitation in hopes of helping the Kraken for their playoff push.
