Edmonton Oilers insider hints at strategic internal roster moves
Coming into the new year, the Edmonton Oilers have been one of the of the hottest teams in the NHL, but have since cooled off. With that in mind, Edmonton Oilers insider Bob Stauffer suggests that GM Stan Bowman could look internally to his farm system to provide assistance to the Oilers moving forward.
On a recent segment of Oilers Now, Bob Stauffer confirmed that Stan Bowman will be making an addition to the Oilers blue line via trade, in addition to a strategic AHL call up.

Recently, forward Jeff Skinner has landed himself back in Kris Knoblauch's dog-house, and rumblings of a trade increase on a daily basis.
While Skinner's demise in Edmonton is unfortunate, it does present another opportunity for either Matthew Savoie or Noah Philp.
According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, Top prospect Matthew Savoie is seeing a surge in play causing many prospect experts to suggest a call up may be coming soon. If the Oilers want to add more scoring talent, particularly in the case of Jeff Skinner heading out, Savoie could be an elite option.

On the other hand, goaltender Olivier Rodrigue has been putting up some incredible numbers this season, and some fans feel that he's earned a well deserved call-up as well.
Regardless, the new year should be filled with interesting roster moves and trade rumours.
