Edmonton Oilers prospect wins gold at World Juniors

The Edmonton Oilers prospect pool is starting to look even better as prospect Paul Fischer recently took home the gold medal for team USA at the World Juniors.

According to Oilers Nation, As for Fischer, the 19-year-old left-shot defenceman picked up an assist in the two games that he played in. However, he sat for the final four games including Team USA's 4-3 overtime victory over Team Finland.

The Oilers acquired Fisher this past summer from the St. Louis Blues, acquiring him and a pick in exchange for future considerations. This season with Notre Dame University, Fischer has nine assists in 18 games as a sophomore.

The Edmonton Oilers acquired the rights to 6'1 defenceman Paul Fischer from the St. Louis Blues over the offseason, a left hand shot regarded for his smooth skating and play making abilities.

According to Edmonton Oilers insider Bruce Curlock, GM Stan Bowman will look to sign Paul Fischer at some point in the New Year.

This player is very high on the Oilers radar. Stan Bowman has very little association with Oiler prospects caveat being Paul Fischer who he wanted. He will get signed.
