Breaking news in Oil Country as the Edmonton Oilers have recalled big Josh Brown from the Bakersfield Condors, raising questions about a potential injury or illness.

The Edmonton Oilers are gearing up for a thrilling showdown against the Seattle Kraken tonight, and GM Stan Bowman has re-called defenceman Josh Brown from the Oilers farm affiliate in Bakersfield.

Jason Gregor recently broke the news on X, where a fans have been voicing their frustrations by stating this roster move "makes no sense".

"Actually it does. Only carrying six D, going on four game roadie out east after tonight and might have a Dman banged up or sick."

As per CBS, the Oilers are down to six healthy defenseman, so it's likely that Brown will be a healthy scratch Saturday in Seattle. Brown had three assists and 54 PIM across 20 games at AHL Bakersfield before his recall and has played three games with the Oilers this season, accumulating seven PIM.

As it stands no one really knows the true nature behind Josh Brown's call-up. As we inch closer towards tonight's matchup against the Kraken, we'll have a better understanding if someone is injured, or if this just a roster move to add more depth.
