Breaking news in Oil Country as Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch has healthy scratched Jeff Skinner, activating forward Derek Ryan in his place.

The Edmonton Oilers are gearing up for an afternoon game against the Anaheim Ducks, but Oilers bench boss Kris Knoblauch has made a game time decision to healthy scratch Jeff Skinner.

During yesterday's game against the LA Kings, Skinner had just two third period shifts, and his line gave up the game tying goal.

To start the season, Jeff Skinner had huge expectations on the Oilers top-6. but has since been relegated to the 4th line, and now the press box.

Earlier last week, Kris Knoblauch challenged Jeff Skinner during a post game interview.

Kris Knoblauch was asked what Skinner needed to do to earn increased ice-time, where the Oilers head coach replied "play better hockey".

Although Skinner's game against the Kings wasn't the worst performance, it appears that Kris Knoblauch has officially put his foot down.

He currently holds a one year $3,000,000 deal but contains a full no movement clause. Bowman along with Oilers management will need to work to convince him to move his salary by taking on retention and willing to move is no movement clause.

Personally, its tough to say wether or not Skinner would be interested moving, but waiving his NMC and embracing a change of scenery could help spark his offensive groove
