The Edmonton Oilers will be looking for a bounce-back performance after falling 4-3 to the Los Angeles Kings yesterday, but a golden opportunity against the Anaheim Ducks has presented itself to avoid a momentum killing loss.

The Edmonton Oilers played a playoff style game yesterday afternoon, going to pound for pound with the team they ousted in the 1st round of the 2024 postseason.
Although the Edmonton Oilers fell shy of a big victory, they now have their eyes set on the Anaheim Ducks to re-take 2nd place in the Pacific Division.

Edmonton Oilers announce starting lineups

Oilers projected lineup
Jeff Skinner - Mattias Janmark - Corey Perry
Scratched: Derek Ryan
Anaheim Ducks starting lineup
Ducks projected lineup
Alex Killorn - Leo Carlsson - Brett Leason
Jackson LaCombe - Radko Gudas
Scratched: Drew Helleson
Injured: Trevor Zegras (knee), Brock McGinn (lower body), John Gibson (illness)
Unfortunately, John Gibson will not be playing due to illness. This is dissapointing news, as Gibson has become a top trade target for the Oilers, and fans were eager to see what he could bring to to the team.
Regardless, the Oilers will look to get back in the drivers seat and get a much needed victory this afternoon.
Puck drop is set for 2:00 PM MT.
