Leon Draisaitl rallied the team together for a heated discussion during the 1st intermission
The Edmonton Oilers edged out Utah HC last in a 4-3 epic overtime victory, but Leon Draisaitl played an instrumental role in the win.
The first 16 minutes of play was an absolute snooze fest last night. The Edmonton Oilers got down 2-0 early on, and the effects of their 5 day break was noticeable.
After the game, Edmonton Oilers veteran Ryan Nugen-Hopkins revealed that superstar Leon Draisaitl held a players only meeting during the 1st intermission, and tensions ran high in the dressing room.
»Sometimes there's moments where it gets louder, and the uncomfortable things need to be said, unfortunately. One great part about our team is there's never any finger pointing. If a guy decides to say something, he puts himself into that conversation as well. We're a mature group.»

After a sleepy start, the Edmonton Oilers we're in serious need of a wake-up call, and there's only so much head coach Kris Knoblauch can say to rally the troops.
The Oilers gradually bagan to resemble their former selves after a clutch goal from Vasily Podkolzin, which seemed to boost the team's morale.
Shortly after, the Edmonton Oilers were gifted their first power play of the night, and Leon Draisaitl wasted no time notching his 17th of the year, evening up the score 2-2.
From the second period on, the Oilers game continued to grow into total domination of Utah and securing a comeback win. Both McDavid and Draisaitl, of course, were key factors in the win.
