The 4 Nations Face-Off Tournament is right around the corner, and the overall strength of Team Canada's roster has been called into question after Sidney Crosby sustained an injury last week. While Sidney Crosby's position on the team remains uncertain, TSN Insider Darren Dreger reports that Sidney Crosby is on his way to Montreal and will undergo further evaluation upon his arrival.

The hockey world held their breath last week as Team Canada captain Sidney Crosby injured during Pittsburgh's 3-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils last Tuesday.
According to Daily Faceoff, Sid left the game for about eight minutes before returning to finish the game. He immediately downplayed any injury concerns but has been kept out of the main Penguins' practices ever since, with coach Mike Sullivan saying they're taking things «day by day.»

Sidney Crosby en route to Montreal despite injury

According to Darren Dreger, Sidney Crosby seems intent on playing through his injury and is currently making his way to Montreal despite injury concerns.
"Sidney Crosby making his way to Montreal. He will skate tomorrow as part of Canada's ongoing evaluation. Rosters need to be finalized by 5pm et Monday. As long as there's progress Canada may opt to keep Crosby and gamble on his availability game by game."

I think it's safe to say that Team Canada's roster has taken a considerable hit. With Alex Pietrangelo's withdrawal from the tournament combined with Crosby's injury, Team Canada's odds of retaining hockey's crown have taken a turn.
According to Ryan Hall of Oilers Daily, If Sidney Crosby isn't named to the final roster by tomorrow night, Team Canada may have to select a new Captain. Connor McDavid would be among those considered, but out of respect for the legend Sidney Crosby, it would seem possible they opt for no Captain.
