As if head coach Kris Knoblauch needed another reason be frustrated with Edmonton Oilers forward Jeff Skinner, new reports suggest Jeff Skinner could land his coach in trouble if he embellishes again.
Earlier this year, Skinner was issued a warning earlier when the Oilers took on the Carolina Hurricanes. That first offense earned Skinner a warning from the league.
Fast forward a few weeks later, the same incident occurred during a game against the New York Rangers, resulting in Skinner being fined $2000.
Jeff Skinner could get head coach Kris Knoblauch in trouble
Elliotte Friedman reported on his 32 thoughts podcast today that if Jeff Skinner embellishes 3 more times, head Coach Kris Knoblauch will receive a $2000 fine as well.
»For Norris and Skinner to get that, the $2,000 fine, that means it's the second time and they've got a warning. So the fine goes up $1,000 each time you get cited for it. Once the fine reaches $5,000, then the coach starts getting fine too. Now, I don't think we've ever seen that.»

According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, Jeff Skinner already seems to be in Coach Knoblauch's doghouse, and surely getting him a fine won't help his cause at all. The Oilers veteran will need to seriously watch himself, and not even want to flirt with a 5th diving offence.
The public announcement that Skinner has been diving may even be more effective to stop players from diving than the fines. No player wants to be known as faking penalties. -Oilers Daily
Things between Jeff Skinner and Kris Knoblauch have already been tense, but this just adds fuel to the fire.
