The Edmonton Oilers are in the middle of a thrilling showdown against the Detroit Red Wings, and disgruntled forward Jeff Skinner is contributing offensively, scoring the second goal of the night. With that being said, Jeff Skinner has been stuck in head coach Kris Knoblauch's dog-house for most of the season, being healthy scratched and relegated to the bottom-6.

For the past 8 weeks, the trade rumour mill has been churning about a potential Jeff Skinner move.
Recently, Jeff Skinner did an exclusive interview with the Daily Hive, emphasizing his intent to stick it out with the Edmonton Oilers.

Jeff Skinner not interested in waiving his NTC

According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, Jeff Skinner spoke to Preston Hodgkinson of Daily Hive in a new interview, and despite earlier admitting it's tough to sit out of the lineup, he's determined to be better and teaming in good conversation with coach Knoblauch.
It's been fine. I think if we were having conversations I wouldn't be saying it out in the media, it's just part of being on a team and, yeah, it's been fine. I feel like I got another level to my game and I think, as the season goes along, you wanna chip away at things you wanna improve, build on the good things.

- Jeff Skinner

It's been great. It's a really good team. We've been playing really well as of late and I am just happy to be here. All the guys are really good guys, a really good group, and it's been a good experience.

Jeff Skinner admits there's another level to his game yet to be unlocked. The former Calder Trophy winner came into to Northern Alberta with high expectations, but has failed to live up to the hype thus far.
With only 8 goals and 16 points in 44 games this season, it's clearly not been a good year for Jeff Skinner. The Oilers may even want to move on from his $3M salary to spend it elsewhere, but if he denies a trade, that's his right.

-Oilers Daily

With Jeff Skinner getting on the score board, it's a step in the right direction.
Hopefully, Skinner continues to grow his confidence as the Oilers will need his scoring prowess in the postseason.
