Let's get real, Stuart Skinner get's a lot of flack from Oilers fans, and sometimes it's warranted. Despite taking the Edmonton Oilers to game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals, there's still skeptics out there that believe Stuart Skinner is an incompetent starting goaltender. With that being said, an anonymous goalie coach has recently spoken out about Stuart Skinner, highlighting the upside to his game.
Despite having a slow start to the season, Stuart Skinner has shown his ability to respond to criticism with shutdown performances.
In the month of October, Oilers fans were hitting the proverbial panic button on the oilers net minder, with demands of a change between the pipes.
Now, Stuart Skinner has found his groove, giving the Oilers respectable performances against high caliber teams.

According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, Skinner probably never will be an all-star caliber goalie, but he does grade out to being a league average goalie over his career with a .908 save percentage.

As it stands, it appears that GM Stan Bowman is sticking with Skinner, and it should be interesting to see how his game develops over time.
