Let's face it -- Connor McDavid is the best player on the planet, and he continues to deliver year after year.
Connor McDavid made history against Utah HC
During the Edmonton Oilers last game against Utah HC, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins ripped home his 8th goal of the season to put the Oil up 2-1, but Connor McDavid quietly made history, surpassing the great Mark Messier in 3rd most assists all time.
That capped an incredible year for McDavid, who became only the third player in NHL history to record 180 points in a calendar year. Only Wayne Gretzky, who did it nine times, and Mario Lemieux, who did it three times, can say that.
McDavid 2024: 42 goals, 138 assists. Just a little shy of Mario Lemieux in 1988 and his 200 points are most definitely a testament to greatness.
