Breaking news in Oil Country as Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid awkwardly collided with defenceman Darnell Nurse during practice, forcing him to get medical evaluation. According to reports from Daniel Nugent-Bowman, McDavid did not return.

Well folks, as if last night's 6-5 defeat to the Florida Panthers wasn't bad enough -- Connor McDavid was forced out of practice today due to a scary collision with Darnell Nurse.

«I have not talked to (head therapist) T.D. (Forss), but I think he's doing all right. If he wasn't, I'm sure I would have gotten an update right away.»
-Kris Knoblauch

According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, The positive news is that Knoblauch had not received an update from the Team Doctor, which he believes is a good sign for his condition. The Oilers don't seem overly worried, so hopefully, McDavid won't miss any game time with injury.

The only aspect of this situation that raises some concern is McDavid not returning to practice after the collision.

Additionally, the Oilers staff has faced some scrutiny this year for providing vague and misleading medical updates regarding Zach Hyman and Viktor Arvidsson, so let's hope Knoblauch's reports are forthright.

The Oilers captain suffered an ankle injury at the beginning of the season against the Columbus Blue Jackets, forcing McDavid to miss 3 games.

Oilers Central will be keeping their eyes open for more medical updates on McDavid -- let's hope it's nothing serious.
