Devastating news hits the Vancouver Canucks as JT Miller walks away due to "personal reasons"
Breaking news in the NHL as Vancouver Canucks star JT Miller has taken an indefinite leave of absence from hockey due to personal reasons.
General Manager Patrik Allvin attached a brief statement, stressing that the team is solely focused on helping Miller at this time, and will not provide additional details out of respect for his privacy.
» Right now, our sole focus is making sure that J.T. knows the entire organization is here to support him. Out of respect to JT, we will have no further comment at this time.»
- Canucks GM Patrik Allvin
Typically, when a players is forced to walk away from the game, it's never a good sign. The Vancouver Canucks are fighting to get back into the playoffs this season, but having JT Miller out for an extended period of time will affect their overall success moving forward.
The 31 year old centreman has been consistently producing so far this season, just like he has every year in his career. Through the first 17 games, Miller has an impressive 6 goals and 16 points.
-Liam McCormick, Oilers Daily
The Vancouver Canucks are having a respectable start to the 2024-25 campaign so far, currently ranked 12th in the NHL, posting a 9-5-3 record.
During practice today, Canucks reporter Jeff Paterson indicated that the team looked rather subdued, clearly feeling the negative impact of their star player gone from the team.
As it stands, all eyes will be on Elias Pettersson to carry the load. I think it's safe to say that the Vancouver Canucks season has just taken a drastic turn. Hopefully, JT Miller comes back to the Canucks lineup sooner rather than later.
