The Edmonton Oilers have been one of the hottest teams in the NHL for the past 4 weeks, and they continue to make noise in TSN's coveted power rankings. Just now, the power rankings were updated, and the Oilers have moved up to 2nd place in the NHL.

As per TSN, It was another exciting week around the National Hockey League as three Canadian teams moved up on our list, two dropped, and two stayed put.

The Edmonton Oilers are knocking on the door for top spot, moving up from third to second following a 2-1-0 week.

Despite ranking seventh in points percentage due to their slow start to the season, the Oilers have been one of the top teams in the league since the beginning of November.

The Edmonton Oilers look to keep the ball rolling against LA Kings

According to the NHL, the Edmonton Oilers have a huge challenge ahead of them tonight. The LA Kings are arguably their biggest rival in the Pacific Division, and the Oil will look to bounce back after falling short in overtime during their last meeting.

The Kings' 3-11-1 record in Oil Country since 2016-17 represents their worst record away from home over that span, which doesn't include their 1-6-2 record at Rogers Place over three consecutive meetings in the First Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Kings and Oilers have been the top-two teams in the League over the last six-and-a-half weeks based on win percentage, with LA edging the Oilers out by only three hundredths (.777 vs. .775) while playing two fewer games since Nov. 27.

If the Oilers manage to string together a few more victories, don't be surprised if they take 1st place in the power rankings next week.
