Former Edmonton Oilers defenceman Desharnais was a feel good Cinderella story last year, and Canucks fans were cheering when they acquired him over the NHL offseason.
Fast forward a few months later, things haven't exactly gone smoothly for the former Oilers blue liner.
Over the offseason, the Canucks signed the "Sea Weed Man" to a 2 years contract worth $4 million dollars AAV per season, but has failed to live up to that valuation.
Now, Vancouver Canucks head coach seems to fed up with Desharnais' inconsistencies, making him prime trade bait leading up to the trade deadline.
According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, Vincent Desharnais became a bit of a fan favourite in Edmonton for his long shot success story to make the NHL and his rugged style of play, but it was those reasons that made it smart for the Oilers to walk away from him in free agency.
According to sources, the Vancouver are having a tough time finding a potential suitor for Vincent Desharnais.
It looks like the "Sea Weed Man" was a one hit wonder in Oil Country, and the Nuck's are left holding the bag, feeling the nasty sting of buyers remorse.
Sorry, Vinny, it's looking like the AHL is calling your name, bud.
