At 15:40 of the 1st period, Edmonton Oilers superstar Leon Draisaitl picked up the puck on his backhand, skillfully navigating around the Minnesota Wild net before delivering a perfect backhand pass to Kaperi Kapenen.
To make it even more impressive, Leon Draisaitl virtually carried the puck on his backhand throughout the entire cycle, switching it to his forehand just once before threading through the Wild defence.
Not only did Draisaitl display incredible skill on the play, but he also emphasized his incredible strength on the puck. The Minnesota Wild defenders had no chance of prying it away from him.
His beautiful assist to Kasperi Kapanen mated his 3rd goal in an Oilers uniform.
To no one's surprise, Leon Draisaitl also got an assist on the first goal of the game.
Initially, it was Leon Draisaitl who was awarded the goal, but upon further review, the goal was reverted to Zach Hyman to mark his 7th of the year.
The Oilers are currently rolling right now, winning 6 of their last 7 outings.
Tonight marks game two of the "murderers row stretch", with matchups against the Las Vegas Golden Knights, Florida Panthers, and the Boston Bruins following suit.
If the Oilers manage to pull off the victory tonight, they'll be heading into their matchup against the Golden Knights with plenty of swagger.
