Leon Draisaitl was mic'd up for Connor McDavid's 1000th point and the results were beautiful

The Edmonton Oilers took on the Nashville Predators last Thursday, but the game was for more than just your average regular season matchup.

Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid had the opportunity to breach the 1000 point barrier at Rogers Place, and I don't think there was any doubt he'd get the job done.

At just 2:44 in the second period, Leon Draisaitl delivered a perfect pass to Connor McDavid on a 2-on-1, and McDavid capitalized with a stunning goal to reach his 1000 point milestone.

The Oilers media crew made the brilliant decision to mic' up Leon Draisaitl for the inevitable achievement, are the results will surely put a smile on your face.

After the goal, the entire Edmonton Oilers bench cleared to celebrate their captain. The electricity in the air gave chills to all the spectators in Rogers Place, and i'm sure all the the fans watching from home jumped from their couch.

This milestone marks a huge achievement in Connor McDavid's career. in 658 NHL games, and of the 98 playerswho have reached the 1,000-point plateau, only Wayne Gretzky (424), Mario Lemieux (513) and Mike Bossy (656) have done it faster.

The Oilers will look to build off this milestone win when they take on a formidable Toronto Maple Leafs team tonight.
