Meredith Gaudreau shares emotional holiday post, first Christmas without her husband

The hockey world continues to mourn the tragic passing of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, and this Christmas marked the first one their family has celebrated without their beloved boys.

Johnny and Matthew were struck by an alleged drunk driver while they were biking in Salem County, New Jersey, on Aug. 29. Johnny was 31. Matthew was 29.
Since then, the NHL enthusiasts have rallied behind Johnny's widow, Meredith, with unconditional love and support.

This year marked the first ever Christmas the Gaudreau family celebrated without Johnny and Matthew.
While the family will forever miss them, Johnny's family took to social media to share some beautiful moments, including former memories of past Christmas festivities.

Meredith posted a bottle of red wine, highlighting that appeared to have been a Christmas tradition for the couple, including a picture of custom Santa Claus wrapping paper wearing the number "13".

Meredith and Johnny also shared a son, Johnny, now 10 months. At the memorial service for Johnny and Matthew in September, Meredith revealed she was 9 months pregnant with the couple's third baby.
