Stuart Skinner addresses the media following missing last game
The Edmonton Oilers are coming off a hard fought 3-2 victory over the Seattle Kraken last night, and Calvin Pickard had to come up big for the team as Stuart Skinner was indisposed for a very special reason.
Last night, the Skinner Family welcomed their newborn son to the world, Darcy Daniel Skinner.
Given this huge milestone, Stuart Skinner missed the game which is totally understandable.
According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, Meeting with the media after morning skate today, Skinner had nothing but good news to share. His wife, Chloe is healthy, and the couple welcomed Darcy into the world - their second boy. Skinner had the radiant joy of a new father through the whole interview.
Everyone's doing well, everyone's healthy. Baby came out beautiful, my wife Chloe's doing great - a superhero obviously I didn't do anything, and I was tired. So I can only imagine how she's feeling.
His name is Darcy Daniel Skinner. Really good name for him. Fits his face, fits his energy. Yeah, we love it.
During the whole interview, you could see the genuine excitement on Stuart Skinner's face.
While the Oilers pulled through in his absence, it gave an opportunity for Calvin Pickard to continue his impressive play.
The Oilers backup net minder has now won 9 or his last 10 games.
Stuart Skinner will look to sharp when the Oilers take on the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday.
