17 year old hockey player tragically passes away at charity game
The hockey world is mourning the tragic passing on 17 year old Connor Kasin who unfortunately passed away during a charity hockey game.
The Massapequa Schools' Superintendent William Brennan issued a letter to the community, explaining Kasin's passing as a sudden medical event, with no more specific information.
Tragically, Connor Kasin and other youth in the community were gathered to play a charity game in memory of a High School classmate, Sabrina Navaretta, who was killed in a car crash last year.
«It is heartbreaking to report that Connor did not survive. His passing is devastating to the Massapequa community, and we offer our deepest condolences to Connor's family and friends."
While there was some confusion around the situation, the school has given further details in a letter to fellow students.
"It is with saddened hearts that we inform you of the passing of a 12th grade student. He experienced a sudden medical event during a varsity ice hockey game last night and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. It is heartbreaking to report that he did not survive."
This news unfortunately comes just after the tragic passing of Colin Brown, a 16 year old hockey player who was shot and killed leaving hockey practice with his dad.
According to NCAA, this was Connor Kasin's player profile:
My name is Connor Kasin and I have been playing Ice Hockey since the age of four. I am an active, social, and encouraging teammate both on and off of the ice. I like to see my self as an active player in the way that I play both with and without the puck. Some things that would make me a good team candidate are my academic ability, leadership qualities, athletic performance, and my character. I can be seen as an overall defensive defenseman when it comes to my style of play. My goals are to get into a great college that provides me with both excellent coaching and education.
Oilers Central would like to send their deepest condolences to everyone affected by this horrific tragedy.
