According to TSN insider Pierre Lebrun, the Oilers are in the market to add a top-4 defenceman, but are open to either a left or a right-hand shot.
The team recently announced that forward Evander Kane successfully underwent surgery to repair his knee, which adds another dimension to the Oilers complex trade deadline plans.
If for whatever reason Evander Kane miraculously comes back during the regular season, the Edmonton Oilers may need to part ways with a few assets to secure some help on the blue-line.
