Connor Brown stays calm, emphasizes no panic in the dressing room
The Edmonton Oilers will look to keep the momentum going when they take on the New York Islanders tomorrow night.
The Edmonton Oilers looked like a bunch of rockstars during their last outing- spanking the Vancouver Canucks in a decisive 7-3 victory.
One of the standout performances of the game came from forward Connor Brown, who scored 2 goals, surpassing his total from early last season.
Looking ahead to tomorrows matchup, Connor Brown made himself available for a brief media session, emphasizing the overall sentiment in the Oilers dressing room.
"There's no panic in our room," Brown added. "We know the calibre of the team and the players that we have, so like I said, we'll just continue to improve."
"We know that we're a good team in this building, and we love playing at home. We love playing in front of these fans. We showed that on the biggest stages last year, and so we'll continue to show that."
-Connor Brown
Connor Brown stole the hearts of fans during the 2024 post season, widely remembered for his stellar play on the Oilers PK. His strong playoff performance ultimately encouraged the Oilers into signing him for another full season.
Brown also highlighted other aspects of the game where he feels the team is starting to show signs of improvement.
«I think we were shooting for rebounds, crashing the net and weren't trying to wait for the perfect play or anything,» Brown said after Monday's practice. «With a little bit of tenacity and hard work, we were putting it on net and banging home second and third opportunities.»

As it stands, the Oilers are nowhere near hitting the panic button. If the team can show up for another 60 minutes the way they did against the Canucks, the Oilers should improve their record to 8-7-1.
