The Edmonton Oilers are dealing with the aftermath of a disappointing 4-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs, but the players put that behind them to entertain fans during today's skill competition.

That said, some fans are feeling a little disappointed as Connor McDavid, Mattias Ekholm, Mattias Ekholm did not participate.
Additionally, veteran Corey Perry made an appearance, but stayed on the bench and watched.
According Ryan Hall of Oilers Daily, Many fans began to question why McDavid was not present even though he played in last night's game. But it was clarified shortly after that McDavid was suffering from an illness and he was unable to participate in the skills competition.
It was a full house in Rogers Place as the Oilers took part in their yearly event which gives the fans a chance to see the skills on an individual level aside the team level as they saw last night.

One player who has shown his speed since coming over from waivers is Jasperi Kapanen who was clocked around 40 kilometres an hour at his peak speed.

While fans still had a blast at the annual skills competition, not being able to watch their captain Connor McDavid is definitely disappointing.
With the 4 Nations Tournament right around the corner, it's clear both McDavid and Ekholm are doing everything they can to prepare for it.
Regardles, the skills contest is always a blast, and i'm sure everyone at Rogers Place had a great time.
