The Edmonton Oilers are coming off an impressive 4-2 victory over the Seattle Kraken last night, and veteran forward Corey Perry continues to impress fans with his scoring prowess.

At the ripe age of 39 years old, Corey Perry is still finding ways to contribute up and down the lineup.
During yesterday's matchup against the Seattle Kraken, Perry was on the receiving end of a beautiful stretch pass from Darnell Nurse, setting him up for the clear breakaway.
With plenty of time, Perry approached slowly and baited goaltender Joey Daccord, forcing him to open up the 5-hole. Perry wasted no time, smoothly burying the puck into the net.

According to Jim Matheson, a lot of guys Perry's age get nights off because the coach feels a veteran needs a breather, but Perry, who will get Hall of Fame consideration (a Hart trophy, Cup win in Anaheim, Olympic gold medals, a 50-goal season, 922 points) when he finally says enough (or somebody else tells him) has only sat out one game, in Seattle, in early January.
Corey Perry might be 39, but he admits that taking care of his body and staying disciplined with his health has been his recipe for success.
«Like I told you guys last year, and you laughed, I would like to play five more years. You guys thought I was crazy but it's who I am. I feel fresh and it's just a matter of taking care of your body.»

Certainly, there are few places Perry would rather be than at the rink. Perry found a workplace he loved and, for him, hockey's not a job. It's almost a calling.
«This is what I've done my whole life,»

Even at 39 years old, Corey Perry is finding ways put up solid numbers, all while providing sound leadership for the younger members of the team.
