The Edmonton are slowly seeing signs of improvement between the pipes, but Stuart Skinner's performance hasn't inspired a ton of hope.

With that being said, the solution the Edmonton Oilers are seeking may actually reside within their AHL affiliate in Bakersfield, as goaltender prospect Olivier Rodrigue has been light's out to start the 2024-25 season.

According to Eric Friesen of Heavy Hockey Network, he reposted an intriguing stat on X, highlighting Olivier Rodrigues numbers so far with the Bakersfield Condors.

According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, Olivier Rodrigue was drafted in the second round by the Oilers in 2018, and has spent the last 5 seasons developing into a very successful goaltender at the AHL level.

Rodrigue has an incredible .925 save percentage through 8 games this season, and has had a .916 and .912 in the two years prior.

Olivier Rodrigue came into preseason training camp with relatively high expectations, but his preseason showcase was ultimately cut short.

During a tough outing against the Seattle Kraken, Rodrigue let in 4 goals on 5 shots, all in the span of 14 minutes.

The preseason is arguably the most crucial aspect of a prospects career, and Rodrigue has only shown that he's not an NHL calibre goaltender quite yet.

With that in mind, it appears as if though Olivier Rodrigue was able to transition his rough NHL pre-season into successful AHL campaign.

If Stuart Skinner fails to generate any consistency moving forward, it may not be long until we see the likes of Olivier Rodrigue between the pipes for the Oilers.
