Donald Trump thinks Wayne Gretzky should run for prime minister of Canada
President Donald Trump has has created quite stir in the NHL today, suggesting that former Edmonton Oilers legend Wayne Gretzky should run for Prime Minister of Canada.
While we generally strive to keep politics out of our articles, it would be a missed opportunity not to recognize the hilarity in this situation.
According to a post published on Truth Social by Trump himself, he believes that Wayne Gretzky should run for Prime Minister of Canada.
Donald Trump endorses Wayne Gretzky as Prime Minister
"I just left Wayne Gretzky, 'The Great One,' as he is known in Ice Hockey circles," Trump wrote. "I said, 'Wayne, why don't you run for Prime Minister of Canada, soon to be known as the Governor of Canada."
-Donald Trump
"You would win easily, you wouldn't even have to campaign."
-Donald Trump
"He had no interest," Trump continued. "But I think the people of Canada should start a DRAFT WAYNE GRETZKY Movement."
-Donald Trump
Although Donald Trump has proven that celebrities have the ability to successfully run for office, I don't see The Great One following those footsteps.
However, stranger things have happened I suppose. If Wayne Gretzky were to run for Prime Minister, it would be the first time in Canadian history a former pro hockey player attempted such a role.
Nonetheless, this is a hilarious interaction, regardless of the outcome.
