Hilarious video surfaces of the Edmonton Oilers pulling a prank on Connor McDavid

Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid sent shockwaves down the NHL on November 14th after notching his 1000th NHL career point.

After the goal, the entire Oilers benched cleared to rally behind their captain, individually congratulating him for reaching that career milestone.

While the entire team was thrilled for McDavid during the game, the post-game narrative told a completely different story.

Naturally, Connor McDavid won all three stars of the night. After saluting the crowd, the Oilers captain is seen walking back to the Oilers dressing room where the team had a little surprise waiting for him.

Connor McDavid was greeted by the silent treatment, with all members of the team doing their best to hold back their laughter.

After a few moments, one individual yelled "great game Nuge!" and the whole dressing room bursted with excitement.

The Edmonton Oilers even went as far as to bake him a custom cake, and McDavid took the stand for another one of his classic speeches.

The Edmonton Oilers staff must've been extremely confident in McDavid's ability to reach 1000 points that night, because that cake looked expensive...

Prior to puck-drop McDavid was presented with a golden stick and commemorative Tiffany crystal for his accomplishment - and fellow Oilers players will present their captain with a gift from his teammates.

The ceremony also included a special video tribute to mark the historic accomplishment.
