Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid is suffering the ugly aftermath of an egregious cross check on Connor Garland and will be sidelined for the next 3 games. With that being said, this incident has sparked some conversation among NHL superstars superstars, with Leon Draisaitl being the latest to chime in on the conversation.

Recently, Leon Draisaitl made himself available for his usual pre-game interviews, ripping the NHL and their officials regarding the debacle.

I think three games is a little much, for either side. I guess we don't overly care about having our best players in the league in the game.

According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily, Draisaitl also called out the total lack of penalty call from the referees that could've prevented the entire meltdown from both teams.

Sure, it's an emotional part of the game between rival teams, but McDavid wouldn't have cross checked Garland if he wasn't mobbed on the play.

That can get avoided. It doesn't need to get to whatever happened at the end of the game. That's to me, clearly a penalty. Connor doesn't want to tangle with Garland in that situation. There's 12 seconds left, like, we're looking to score.

While the Oilers superstar made his thoughts extremely clear, so fans seem to think Leon Draisaitl could have said more to address the situation.

As it stands, the Edmonton Oilers will have to make due without Connor for the next 3 games.

Superstar Leon Draisaitl will aim to step up in a big way during McDavid's absence -- a challenge he's already proven capable of handling when McDavid missed 3 games earlier this season due to a lower-body injury.
