Edmonton Oilers top prospect Matthew Savoie has been putting up some incredible numbers for the Bakersfield Condors this season, and insider Bob Stauffer reports that the he's poised for an NHL call up very soon.

Over the offseason, the Edmonton Oilers made a blockbuster transaction, trading Ryan McLeod and Tyler Tullio in exchange for Buffalo Sabres top prospect Matthew Savoie.
Matthew Savoie's transition to the AHL level has been impressive to watch, as the St. Albert product currently ranked 3rd overall in scoring.
Additionally, Matthew Savoie also took home the fastest skater award in this year's AHL all-star skills competition.

In a recent tweet, Edmonton Oilers insider Bob Stauffer reveals that Matthew Savoie could be joining the NHL ranks as soon as this year.
Off-season acquisition Matthew Savoie of the Condor iss currently 3rd in AHL Rookie scoring with 12-22-34 in 42 GP and leads the team with a +14.The 22 year-old is tracking to becoming a full-time middle-6 forward for the EdmontonOilers by next season...or sooner...

According to the Oil Rig, He has shown that he is more of a play creator then initially thought at the pro level. Savoie's puck skills are also top end with quality handling, deception, decision making, and passing diversity. Compete level is also notable in his transition play as he shows quality hustle, play engagement, and motor.
With the postseason right around the corner, it appears that Matthew Savoie has earned his shot on the Edmonton Oilers for a test-run.
