The Edmonton Oilers are gearing up for a thrilling showdown against the Seattle Kraken, but the team's early morning practice session has sparked some concern among fans. According to sources, Darnell Nurse, Stuart Skinner, and John Klingberg did not participate in practice.

Additionally, forward Jeff Skinner is projected to be healthy scratched for tonight's game.
Jeff Skinner recorded a goal and and 2 hits last game against the Sabres, causing some confusion regarding his demotion to the press box.
Head coach Kris Knoblauch's most noteworthy adjustment is defenceman Alec Regula's activation to the starting roster after practicing with the team this week.
According to Liam McCormick of Oilers Daily,, at this point the reasons for the Oilers' absences are unknown, but it's possible that none will be available for tonight's game against the Seattle Kraken. With these absences, the first line is loaded up with McDavid and Draisaitl.
Adam Henrique will move up to center the second line still with Podkolzin and Arvidsson, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins will be bumped down to drive a third line of his own with Janmark and Brown. The fourth line now features Corey Perry as Skinner is bumped out.

With Darnell Nurse absent, the Oilers ran with Brett Kulak as the team's first pair defenceman alongside Evan Bouchard. Alec Regula drew in on the third pairing.

Furthermore, it appears that backup goaltender Calvin Pickard will be getting the nod between the pipes tonight against the Kraken.
I imagine today was an optional skate, so I wouldn't necessarily hit the panic button yet.
While Skinner's and Nurse's absence is causing some concern, Oilers Central will keep an eye out for all the breaking updates.
More details and analyses to come.
