Edmonton Oilers fans are seeing a new version of Connor Brown, recording another 2 points during yesterdays 4-1 victory against Utah HC.
Connor Brown was easily one of the more frustrating Oilers to watch during the 2023-24 campaign. He was 30+ goal scorer in his previous stint with the Ottawa Senators, but he failed to generate any traction with the team last season.
The struggling forward was held without a goal for virtually the entire regular season, but things started to change heading into the playoffs.
By the time to Oilers reached the midway point of the post season, his confidence started to shift, and Brown's offensive potential was finally unlocked.
Connor Brown was a key factor during the Oilers Cup run, contributing with timely short handed goals on multiple different occasions.
Fast forward to now, Connor Brown has transitioned his newfound confidence to a brilliant campaign so far this season.
Connor Brown on a surprising heater
During yesterdays matchup, Brown wrapped up the game with over 10 minutes of even strength ice time alongside McDavid, showcasing their strong teamwork. He ended the night with 14:05 of time on the ice.
In 37 games this season, Brown has six goals and 12 assists, totaling 18 points. He is on a 0.49 points-per-game pace. That would have him finish the season with 40 points. If that holds, it would be the second-highest point total he has experienced in a season over his entire NHL career.
I think it's safe to say that Connor Brown has stolen the hearts of fans, and he's starting to shape up as a fantastic offseason signing.
