The Vancouver Canucks continue not to go well since they have internal locker room issues and trade rumors surrounding their best players that is now extending to goaltender Thatcher Demko.
Reports from NHL.com's Kevin Woodley and insider Doug MacLean suggest that Demko could be the next trade target and
the Carolina Hurricanes is showing off as a potential landing spot for him.
Internal meetings were reportedly scheduled after the defeat to address the team's struggles.
Thatcher Demko has been regarded as one of the NHL's premier goaltenders for a little time now, but his recent performance has been deceiving because of the injury and inconsistency in his game.
After returning from a knee injury, he has posted a .867 save percentage in 12 games this season and even with his current struggles, Demko remains an excellent goaltender with a $5 million annual cap hit through next season which is a bargain for his talent.
MacLean said that Demko may be seeking a change of scenery because of the Canucks' locker room problem.
If he is moved, it will be big for Vancouver's already fragile team, especially as the team is surrounded by trade rumors about itss top stars.
Losing Demko with one of Pettersson or JT Miller could be the beginning of a rebuild for the Canucks.
With their playoff hopes slipping away, Vancouver's future looks uncertain, and they will need to be followed to see what their next move will be this season.
